We are Alko & Miriam. Since 2010 we were involved in the Afterbeat Charity in the Netherlands. With this charity, we organized lots of outreach events combined with sport and music lessons in schools.

In 2017 we felt a clear calling to work as missionaries in Scotland. God opened doors that we could not have imagined. Alko was given the opportunity to work for The Message Trust. An amazing evangelical organization that started with the band The World Wide Message Tribe in the early 90’s.

Alko travelled a lot since 2015 with the Afterbeat charity and also with the Transform band, as he was their tourmanager. Through all the traveling he came into touch with The Message Trust. This organization is created out of the World Wide Message Tribe band. The Scottish hub asked to work for The Message Trust Scotland to help to create outreach missions in High Schools nationwide. Alko was a fan of the World Wide Message Tribe  band since he was 12 so this opportunity was a dream that came true. He never could imagine to actually work for this amazing charity.

In 2018, God opened the doors to move to Scotland. The house was sold and Miriam found a fantastic job at Terwille where she can work online as a (Christian) counsellor. She also started to work for a local youth charity called Heart & Sound in Dunfermline.

In the first two years was Alko responsible for all school missions of the Message Trust in Scotland. In 2020 Alko & Miriam felt that they had to move on and extended the Afterbeat charity to in Scotland. In 2021 we partnered with Ignite Missions UK to keep this charity running while we moved back. Next to this God gave an opportunity to expand Afterbeat to the USA in partnership with the Capstone Legacy Foundation. 

In 2020 Alko and Miriam moved back to The Netherlands to work on an amazing venue in their hometown with a Coffee Cafe, Enterprise Center, Youth-Club and headquarters. We pray this venue will be a city on a mountain everyone can see: Matt 5:14 You are the light of the world, a city on a mountain everyone can see. 

Transform
The Transform band is a very large part of our mission. Transform is based on Romans 12 and focusses on transforming life’s trough Jesus, (pro) life and worshipping the Lord through their music. Since we connected with Transform in 2013 we have seen a huge change in our ministry with Afterbeat and in our personal life. Founders Tim Heil and Jonathan Burgess of Transform are a huge inspiration in the charity and outreaches we have done in the last years. Transform is a part of our life.  Transform aims to stop abortion and reach a million people with the gospel of Jesus Christ.
