Afterbeat was originally launched in The Netherlands in 2009 as a local community project by Christians who loved to work with young people. The team has over 7 years of experience providing lessons in secondary/high schools. At the end of a school project, Afterbeat works with local partners to organise an evangelical event in a local nightclub with Christian Electronic Dance Music (EDM) artists. This vision has been the core vision of the charity.
